What useful information would I be getting if someone were sending me all my adoption paperwork, including my OBC and ABC. I have been told for 30 years that there was no information and was just informed that this information could be sent to me. Thanks in advance.
Each state is different so I can't even point you where to go or what that state offers but I can give you a link to get a basic understand of what the state your adoption was final in offers.

To figure out who (state agency) to contactAbove this forum in the purple bar there is a library tab that has the laws as a subtitle. Click on that and select all states and then choose your state and the Access (first option). They aren't all up to date as both Illinois and RI have recently changed.
Also if you were adopted from an agency they should (supposed to) provide you with a non-id info as well which can be either little to nothing or great and inbetween, and may based on the state offer other services. If you were adopted through an agency also ask for any letters or updates put into your file.
Don't forget to sign up for and check the registry on this site and ISRR.net as well if you are intending on searching.
Kind regards,
Dickons
