DOB 10-03-1970 Female: I was born in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, at Broward General Hospital. I'm searching for my birth mother. I was told that my birth mother was living in New Orleans but gave birth to me in Florida.
I am a mother of 6 children, 2 are grown and 4 at home. Needless to say my funds are limited in my search. Any direction/leadership through this process would be greatly appreciate.

Do you know what agency your adoption was through? If so you should first contact that agency and fill out a Consent for contact form and a waiver for siblings form. You should also request your non identifing info. You would be suprised what it can turn up.Do you have your amended birth certificate? If not you should get this as well. Register on reunion sites.

These sites have ways of matching up non identifing info with birth certificates to help find at least a madien name. Have you searched to see if Florida has a birth index? Sometimes babys are listed twice, or with no first name. I started out with no names and now may be on the cusp of a reunion with my mothers birth family thanks to some digging and some search angels. I know this can be frustrating and over whelming. Keep faith. We've been searching on and off for 20 years.
