So, this coming Thursday is FD's permanency hearing, and I am FREAKING OUT with worry. Since she came into care at 13-days old, this has been a LONG time coming, in our eyes (and just under the 15-out-of-24 months max deadline dictated by MO law). FD's CW tends to keep us in the loop, as much as she can so we aren't expecting any huge surprises from DFS' viewpoint. My concern stems from the fact that the judge can do anything she wants, despite what is/isn't happening with the case.
FD's parents started doing a few small items on their To-Do lists about 2 weeks ago (it's been about 4.5 months since last court date). I understand that it's pretty typical for bios to finally get some ambition right before court. I am just worried that these small moves will be enough to grant them additional time, despite the judge's warning last time. Will the judge stick to her guns, or won't she (I know nobody can tell me that, even the people involved in FD's case - even those who have brought cases before her can say that she usually sticks firm, but it doesn't mean anything for the next case)? It's driving me crazy!
I feel bad for hoping that the bios won't be given more time to fix their issues. But, then I look at my sweet little FD and I know that she deserves to be off of this roller-coaster. Hopefully the judge will see that too. I guess I just need some BTDT support...
