I received a call from our adoption agency this morning. Our social worker informs me that our e-mom's pregnancy counselor told her today that the e-mom has not officially chosen us. That she is also considering two other couples out of state. The reason is that they are African American. E-mom is biracial and e-father is African American. My husband and I are both white. Our dd is biracial (ethipian / hispanic). I'm just really frustrated with the agency. When we received the call last week I specifically asked her if we had been officially chosen by e-mom. She told me yes, that there was no other families that she was looking at. Now I find out differently. I told her when she called that I am really disappointed and wished that they had communicated better with each other so that we didn't get our hopes up to much. Our social worker said that the e-mom is really looking forward to meeting us. Now I am really nervous. I want to make a good impression with her. The one good thing we have in our favor is that we are wanting an open adoption and that we live within an hour of her. I realize even if she chooses us that she can still change her mind. But to be told that we have been chosen to "Oh by the way" is very frustrating and disappointing. :grr: Thanks for letting me vent.
