I am trying to find a list of all the private and public foster care and adoption agencies in Ohio. I am working on a project and I need to know how many of them there are total.
Does anyone know if they can all see information on a foster parent via SACWIS? I'm wondering if they have to be GIVEN access by the agency that currently holds the person's license .
A fellow peep found out through the grapevine that there's something disturbing and untrue typed into the SACWIS system that has never been said to her ....either on the phone, in writing, or to her face. Now she's wondering if 100's of employees across the Ohio Foster Care network can read this info. (she's alluding that she has a mole insider, so I think her concern is valid!) I'll let her work the details into her own posts.....

FCCS had a list of all of the Central Ohio on their site. That will get you started:

Also, I am feeling that people do not LEGALLY have free access to SACWIS as I had to sign a release of my information from the county to the private agency. As with all things, I am sure that there are loop holes. Also, like when a case moves to adoption, the foster case is closed and even the CW can no longer look at the child's information. Meaning, only the Adoption Worker can access the electronic files. Because Chubbs was a direct PC, his CW and AW were one and the same so it was a little bit different.
Having said all of that, there must be some link because I confirmed MULTIPLE times that if my girls come back into care, I will still get called. So, I think they'd have to have a record of where I am now licensed?
I'm not in OH, but I've had to chase this info down for FL before -- this may be what you're looking for (PDF file): http://jfs.ohio.gov/ocf/Certified%20Agencies%20%26%20Approved%20PCSA%20Master%20Listingsv%204.2012_1.pdf

Not sure...but interesting...
What is SACWIS?
Gosh, I had seen what it stood for once but don't remember. Maybe State Admin Child Welfare Information System? LOL.
Basically, it is the computer program used by CPS agencies in OH for all things foster. The same (stupid) system that doesn't allow a worker to override the need to do a monthly visit post Adoption Finalization when the system itself hasn't been updated. Yes, I had to have two visits with Chubbs' worker AFTER we finalized just because of this stupid system!
Haha, I guessed and I was close!

Well, this opens up a different bag of worms for me. When I asked to have my home study sent to a county for consideration of an adoptive child, they didn't have me sign anything at all, they just forwarded the file. (then again, that was adoption and the receiving agency was a COUNTY)
I was told that all privates DO now have access to SACWIS. CPS is being secretive with my friend as to whether all the privates can automatically SEE all of what's in SACWIS on ALL foster parents, (statewide) or if the FP "home agency" has to give computer access to FC records, parent by parent. She's with a county and I'm now with a private, so I'm not sure how things work .....
Obviously agencies don't have free access to FC records, because of confidentiality. Perhaps privates get access to only the FC cases they are subcontracted for? This is all fairly recent, meaning in the last 2 years that-- privates have all begun to get access to SACWIS ....
