Are the children listed on Adoption.com, Adoption photolisting and CAKidsConnection.org legally free for adoption? I think RainbowKids.com children are legally free, but I don't know about the others. Please advise. Thanks!

The first 3 you named are state run sites, so yes, the children are already free for adoption.

CaddoRose, thank you for your response. I am excited because I would love the chance to adopt without necessarily fostering first. And I am very interested in a photolisted child. He is special needs, but I am a special education teacher in search of a child with a disability.
This Monday I meet with the adoption agency for my first official appointment after the orientation. Should I mention my interest in this particular child at the meeting, or wait until I have gotten my homestudy done (if the agency wants to move forward with me, that is)? I am so eager, I worry about looking kind of crazy... :eyebrows:
