Just between you and me though, I was contacted privately and warned some time ago not to take my daughter to Russia. My daughter is on a "list" of children that have received media attention (also on the list are a few Russian adopters who are Olympic athletes and some other dancers and other accomplished kids) There are some in the Russian government who have expressed a desire to get the kids back. This will not happen, however there is a risk if the children visit Russia. That part is a real risk, that I have been warned about by Russian and American authorities. They are not making this public and if any other a.com parents have received the warning I have they are unlikely to come right out and say it. I figured you guys needed to know what is going on behind the scenes for at least a few parents of Russian adoptees. Personally I am torn between being flattered she is on the list and being terrified. Luckily she has no desire to visit Russia.
I didn't think her response was all that snarky. Really, just trying to tell people that perhaps one's thoughts should be more with those who are really affected by this ban right now, which are those people in process and won't become parents. It's tacky to bring up the whole thing, imo, meaning both issues (to me it's about timing) but we can't moderate based on that. It's their opinions.
Now she made an outright rude comment - "Be ready for all these hens to come peck at you for daring to speak the truth". I've edited that.I also posted publicly on the thread that I'll ban her account if she bashes the members again.
