Hello
lets see if anyone can help....we are trying to adopt from foster care, we already submitted our home study to a specific child, we live in florida and he lives in oregon, how long it takes for them to respond if we are approved or not, and after that do we have to travel there or he will be coming to a new foster family wile the whole process is finish?
Thanks:clap:
Hopefully someone more experienced can help you with this question. From what I know when you submit your homestudy some workers respond immediately letting you know they have received your homestudy and you will contacted if they are interested and some you never hear from unless they are interested in moving forward. I would imagine that if the child is in a different state that he is probably already in a Foster Home. If you were chosen and agreed to the adoption after the disclousre meeting you would more than likely need to schedule visits to Oregon to see your adoptive placement. After all the required visits then you would be able to take him home. Hope that helps!

Some workers respond right away and some you get no reply at all. You can have your case worker call the child's casworker to inquire further. They sometimes tell the CW more information.
Good luck-
