Do they cover any daycare? Or discounted daycare? I:love: think we are going through The Children,s Bureau.

I'm in a bordering county but I believe your answer is yes. They do pay daycare if you use on of their authorized providers. I believe they have a list. I checked with my sister who fostered/adopted LA County. Have you attended an orientation? This will help answer all the things they do and don't cover. You also get a clothing allowance and monthly stipend to help with costs of food, etc.

No, the reimbursement and clothing allowance is intended to cover all costs associated with the child including daycare.
The county will provide a list of licensed daycare providers to Foster parents. Foster children are supposed to receive priority at those locations but they don't provide additional funds to cover the cost of daycare.
I've had the pleasure :/ of working with LA COUNTY. Daycare is NOT INCLUDED however they are contracted with subsidized daycare/preschool providers and if they have space usually you can get low to no cost daycare. They go by the child's stipend as their income so the almost always qualify for low income with no out of pocket expenses. Your issue will be these facilities having available space. Remember you're competing with all the low income families. Pp mentioned foster children getting priority...that is suppose to be the case but GOOD LUCK WITH THAT. I have problems dealing with the normal schools abiding by these rules. As far as help with food if your child is 4 and under you can get WIC which helps with milk, fruit, veggies, juice, eggs, cereal, and a few other things. Once they turn 5 your child no longer qualifies for WIC. Also all school age Foster Kids qualify for Free Lunch. Hope this information helps. Good luck
