My family is from Illinois and we are hoping to adopt a Sibling Group from Texas of 6! We are just needing to know what is required for us to do this? I know the kids we are interested in and their parents rights have already been terminated. Also, Looking for a good Attorney in Texas & Illinois that specializes in Special needs adoption. Any help in greatly appreciated !
We are at a stand still right now . It seems like every Agency we contact in Illinois don't offer ICPC or Sibling Group . Usually it's Infants ONLY or International :/
Contact the agency in Texas that is handling the kids. They should be able to help you identify an agency local to you, that they work with.

Do you have a home study? If not, this would be your first step. You could go through the state (cons are that it can take several months to complete and the home study is in the possession of the state; the pro is that is should cost very little to have the home study complete). You could also get a private domestic home study done, which costs between $1000-1500. This should take 60-90 days to be completed. The agency in Texas that is listing the sibling group is the one that does the IPCP.
Good luck!
We've adopted from Texas twice. We needed a private home study. Our state will do them but then they won't release them for anything but foster care or adoption within the local region. The local private agency has separate fees for the home study ($200+/-) and "networking" (the rest of the way to $1000), so it isn't that expensive if you don't want help making connections (some places will only talk to social workers).
I think you should get in touch with the agency that is listing them right away and tell them you are interested in the hope that they'll wait for you and not split the kids up since 6 at a time would be hard to place.
Is there a phone number or contact info for how to submit a home study? Use that. Tell them it will be forthcoming, then try to get it there as fast as possible.

The photo listing sites have links on the children's profile pages. Most say something like "Click here if you are interested in adopting this child."
Go to the profile page for the sibling group that you are interested in, and click one of those links. From here, you will probably be asked to fill out a form, which will be sent to the agency. Then, you have to wait for the agency to contact you.
Did you say you know the children? If yes, you might qualify as a kinship adoption. Make sure you mention it when you are contacted by the agency.
