Hi- We have 2 bills in Olympia this year that would release original birth certificates to WA adoptees. Senate Bill 5118 was amended this week so ALL adoptees would be able to get their original birth cert with no restrictions!! House Bill 1525 would all most adoptees to get their original birth certificate but the bill gives the birth parent the right to deny the right of the adoptee to get the original birth cert. WE NEED ALL WA ADOPTEES, BIRTH FAMILIES, AND ADOPTIVE FAMILIES TO GET INVOLVED TO GET WA LAW PASSED THIS YEAR!!
