Hubby and I were licensed today and our SW showed us the profile of a little boy she thought would be a great match. He is exactly what we were hoping for and we have the skills to handle his needs. She sent our home study to his SW this afternoon. Now what? Waiting is so hard. I really want this little guy!

The same thing happened with us. Same day we were "open" we were told about our little one and a few others. We had to wait until the child's SW make a decision. It can take a day or a few weeks. They collect home studies and pick out the top 3-5 and take them to a team meeting and they pick their top choice or say we don't like any of these families for this child and they start taking more home studies.
For us we were the #1 family picked during that team meeting but this was after 3 other team meetings where she was offered to 6 other families and they all backed out due to her medical issues. We are very thankful they did as we now have a sweetheart of a 2 year old who has improved so much she is almost at age level developmentally and is doing great medically.
Good luck!

I am dying over here!!!!! Still waiting to hear. Our SW said the childs SW has been in the field most of the week. She is going to check in on Monday. I really want them to place him with us and I can't stop thinking about him. The issue's he has are things our special needs bio son has had to deal with so I know we would be a good fit...I just hope they see it when they read our home study!
I heard back today from mySW. The little boy's SW was "very impressed" with our homestudy. She is reviewing her top families (of which we are one) this week!!!!
I know it is good news because we made it to round 2 but it is also hard because we are closer to the end but could still not get him. This will be a hard week for me!!!!

So happy for your family! Now for the hard part--waiting until you can bring him home for good and waiting to finalize!
Get your list of questions ready for the foster parents, sw, and doctors. We went to a meeting with out little one's main doctor and asked tons of questions and was able to get a better history then what the SW had.
