Hello Florida!
I'm in CA and my husband and I recently inquired about two sib sets listed on the Miami Heart Gallery. After a week of trying to reach someone or even hear back from our email inquiry, I was finally able to catch a worker at her phone.
One of the sib sets we inquired about she said "they were still accepting home studies for" and the other had already been split up. She is going to email more info on the one sib still available.
Does Miami move pretty quickly on getting their kiddos who are ready for adoption matched? So far, I get the impression they aren't in any big hurry to move these kiddos.
Your FL experience/feedback on how they move on this would be great.
I view that website often. :) I've inquired on a child from that county before and have been contacted back within 24 hours. We ultimately decided not to proceed so I can't really comment on the process after that, but wanted to say "Good luck!"
Hope your child finds you and you find them! Hope it all works out for all of you. :)

Thanks rogue,
Its kind of sad because one of the sib groups we inquired about we found out have been split up. We would have kept them together.
We're waiting to hear back about the one boy left in the sib group that was split up and about the second sib group. It sounds like they both come from 6+ siblings, so maybe there is a chance we can still keep a few of them together.
So far, it has all been kind of a waiting game. Nobody at DFS seems in a big hurry to get these kids in forever homes.
We're pretty much done with the foster thing until we get some adoptive kiddos under our belt. Crossing our fingers that happens sooner rather than later.
I can't really speak for Miami-Dade county but from what I hear from other foster parents, this state in general is like molasses about adoptions, they leave kids sitting in foster care for a long time even when they have adoptive placements for them!

See, this is what drives me NUTS! If they have people sending in their homestudies and who want to meet and hopefully adopt these kiddos, wouldn't it be in everyones best interest to get them in those adoptive homes? Its like they WANT them to age out or become older and harder to adopt out.
I confirmed Miami received our homestudy this morning, so I guess they'll just have to put up with me calling all the time to get answers.

Hi BoysParent,
Just wondering if anything ever progressed from your sibling set inquiry. I have been interested in learning more about some of the children listed on the Miami list, but haven't finished our classes and homestudies yet. Just curious if anything ever moved forward for you and what further experience you have had trying to work with this county.

Hi!
Nothing yet. The kiddos we inquired about are still listed on the site. I've left a few VMs and sent another email to the kids SW, but nothing back.
It's going on 3 weeks now and I'm losing hope.
So far my experience has NOT been that good. Here's to hoping we'll get a call.
We have foster placements in the house right now which I am totally thankful for. If we didn't have them around, not hearing back on our inquiries to these photolistings would have us going nuts.

Hopefully you hear something soon!
I'm in FL, and adopted my daughter from CA!
OMG! Really?! You're kidding? We're like the "reverse" of eachother. How long from the time you submitted your HS for your daughter did it take to actually meet her? What county did she come from?
When we were matching, we found that nearly every child on their gallery was already placed, and they hadn't updated the site in a long time! I hope that's changed!

To date, FL hasn't contacted us about the sets of kids we have inquired about.
We were lucky enough to get a response on a kiddo we inquired about in MO and we are 1 or 3 to be chosen for the kiddos. We have a conf call set for 5/22.
Fingers crossed!
