Does anyone have access to Michigan Birth Records. My brother Merrit was born in Flint Michigan 11-13-1958. We lived in Lorain Ohio where we were taken from our Mother in 1963. From what I have been told he was adopted by an Ohio couple when he was around 9,(1967) and i was told he kept his first name. Its been almost 50 yrs. I have located everyone else in the family. both parents are deceased now. Thanks. Sheryl

Have you tried requesting a copy of the adoption decree? You could try drafting a letter letting them know that your deceased parents have left you in charge of their estate and in order to finalize it you need a copy of the final decree of adoption. I was able to get my birthmother's identifying information that way. Often the clerks process these requests so fast they forget to black out items or do it in such a way you can read through it :)
