Have you had to bring your foster children to any hearings? If so, which ones? This would be for children under six. I really hope we never have to bring our children to court, but wondered what your BTDT experiences have been.

yes :( I just posted about this yesterday... we have involuntary TPR coming up next week, and we HAVE to bring our LO, she is 18 month :( I think it's horrible to request that the child has to be there, for the child, AND the bm, and for us.
in 'normal' review courts mom would sit there, holding the baby, acting like 'super mommy' while the baby was trying to look at us over her shoulders...
they say the judge and the lawyers want to see the child.
they hardly GLANCE at the child, imo. But there is nothing we can do, as long as she is a foster child, we have to do what they tell us.....

I hate this too. If we took our girls (age four) they'd be saying "oh mommy, grandma, grandpa," and wanting to go see these people. However, they aren't good people, and they did horrible things to the girls. So, it worries me so much that they might have to go to court. I'll keep praying they are never called, but I imagine at some point they will be.
My agency only places children under three (unless part of a sib group), so I am not sure how my area works for older kids...but I have never had to take/send a child to court.
Our first placement was a set of brothers (oldest was three.) We had them for about 8 months, and they were never called to the court. Our current FD has been with me since she was 4 months old. We have had her for about 15 months, and going to adoption...she has never been called either.
I think a judge who orders young children into the court room is off his/her rocker!
