You may want to look up Adult Adoptees Advocating for Change. They have a great online community with lots of support and interaction.
Daretofly,
It can definitely feel lonely being an adoptee. Are you searching for your birth family, or looking for support in a more general sense? Either way, if you need someone to talk to who's been there, done that, as an adoptee, you can message me. I can try to help.
I know it does. I never felt like I belonged and I was adopted at 1 year old. I am now 43 and I still have trouble with it. I also have attachment disorder - No one other than another adoptee would understand that loss. I had a son at 18 because I wanted a blood relative (which wasn't really a smart decision) and it didn't fill that void I had. It will forever be difficult,
Wow thanks or all your help guys! =) I was nervous that a=ill always feel this un attached that it will never go away

Hi! I know how you feel. I don't have many friends, afraid of getting too close to people at times. My issue is fear of being left after forming a friendship or in some cases any kind of relationships. I am a Female. I grew up in Connecticut and still live here. I have always known I was adopted, but decided to pursue meeting my biological family several years ago. I would love to chat with you. Maybe we can find things we have in common, if not it's still someone to talk with. You can certainly send me an e-mail at kellymichellecoughlin@gmail.com
I really hope you are able to connect with some friends and talk with some women your age! It helps a lot when you have the chance to talk with other's that you can relate too. -smiles- *Kelly*
hi there, feeling lonely & detached is not a comfortable feeling , I know it feels like there is a big hole of darkness. I can relate , I am also in Ct. Where are you located ? Feel free to private message me ,I can always use a friend :)
Hey CountryGirl16! That's so kool that you are also in CT. I live in a small town in Fairfield county called "Easton" it's close to Fairfield, Trumbull,Danbury ( Right off of the "Merrit Parkway" ) I noticed your name on here, it caught my eye, do you happen to like horses? I own one right now. I never go over to the barn anymore since I don't have anyone to go with me. It's no fun riding on your own...
Thanks for responding. After the week I have had, with my biological father calling me then me trying to call him back and him not picking up ( probably b/c he is too drunk to remember how to work his cell phone ) On top of that me moving out of my little apartment in Norwalk,CT due to the fact that my boyfriend of over a year has broken up with me, waking up this afternoon and seeing that someone reached out to me put a smile on my face!
Feel free to look me up on Facebook, i'm not too sure if you feel comfortable with that but if you are my name is Kelly Michelle Coughlin, and here is the link:
