I have a question, my husband's brother and sister in-law got their children taken away from them for the 3rd time, one time was in Washington and the other was in California and now the 3rd time it's in California again, and all three times was to do with drugs. The kids CPS worker says we are getting the kids and we will be fostering them, but it's been 9 months we have been waiting to get them, they didn't have their Social security cards and their birth certificates and they said that was the reason it has taken so long, and one of the kids last names was under a different last name then the rest of them, we have passed our background checks and are just waiting for their court date in May. What I am wondering is if the parents will completely lose their rights or will they more in likely get the kids back? And should we expect to get the kids still sense the CPS worker says we will get them?
It really depends on the case and circumstances. Seeing as how they have lost them three times it's not looking good for them getting them back though it does happen. My big concern is why it has taken 9 months for you guys to get the kids. Have you been persistent? At some point the home they are in could fight for them. I'd get on someone's butt, even if you have to call a supervisor.

We call the CPS worker almost daily, and I'm not sure if its because we are out of state? And they didn't know that one of the boys had a different last name then the rest of them? They got in trouble with child endangerment from having loaded firearms, drugs, selling drugs and using drugs while the children were in the home. We are driving from Texas to California to their next Court date, and the judge when we went to the last court date told us he wanted us to get a background check and wanted them to be sent to us.
