Hi.
We are in week 3 of our PS-MAPP classes and will start the first of 3 home visits in the near future. In filling out the mounds of paper work, one question is do you see yourself changing jobs in the next 6 months, year, two years?
I've always had long term employment, 5 years at my last job, ending only because the business was sold. Currently 8 years at the job I am at now. But, I am looking to switch jobs and actually have an interview scheduled. Now, I know that just because I have an interview doesn't mean I'd get it. The hours would be the same and the salary would be higher - quite a bit higher.
My question is, how do you think it will affect our home study results with me looking at this change? Oh, and my husband has also had and is in a long term employment.
Thanks!

I agree with PP. I would just be honest and let them know that you are looking at a job that would pay better, and they should not be upset by that. The only issue would be time off if a child needs you, but as long as you have a plan in place they should be fine with it. When you fill out that paperwork there is no garantee that a job will be there or that a great opportunity like this will not fall in your lap. they know life happens! Good luck on the interview!
I do not think you have anything to worry about. There is a second income and if your husband makes enough to pay the bills you would be able to not work and qualify. I would just keep in mind if you have a lot of sick time accrued at your old job and you do not get the new job you could see how many extra appointments and time off that you will need to take. With a new employer they may not be as flexible than if you have been in your job for a long time.
