If you adopted through social services, how long was your wait until you matched with your kids?
I am the worlds most impatient person so someone please tell me it doesn't take forever :)

It may be months only depending on how efficient your agency or the social services contact person is. In some cases I heard it could be up to 1-2 years but if you are going to adopt you are up for many surprises too right. I am sure you know about that. If not you should prepare for such flows in life.

How long did it end up taking you? We have been in the process of becoming adopt ready since August 2012, we should be finishing our homestudy soon. :)

If the question was for me here is the answer. We didn't go through social services but I heard stories during our classroom experiences shared by other parents. Ours is an international adoption but we are still waiting for an NOC to be given by Indian government. CARA an authority in India is delaying it for no good reason. A child's life is in stake in the process.

Hello Kalki,
I am new to this forum and hope you (or anyone else) see this and can help! Given that the new CARA process has been centralized...has anyone initiated the process recently? This is for International Adoptions but I would be interested in domestic information as well. No one answers the CARA phones! :-)
