I'm adopted, and I believe adoptees have a right to know the truth about our origins. It sounds like your child is still underage, so for right now, you do have to respect the parents' wishes.But, once your child is an adult (probably best to wait until s/he is living on his/her own), you can attempt contact.You don't need the parents' permission once your child is an adult. However, once s/he is an adult, you may want to contact them one more time and tell them that you plan to contact your son or daughter. Tell them that you want to give them an opportunity to come clean before you open Pandora's Box.
