Exhausting Search!

I am in the process of helping my boyfriend find his birth family. After a long search I finally have a hit, I found a newspaper birth announcement which list the only boy born on his birthday (May 2nd 1965 Corpus Christi Tx) at Spohn Hospital (the hospital on his amended birth certificate). My question is, how confident should I be that this is him? It does not list his name. It just says Mr and Mrs Doyle Wayne Pelfrey, boy May 2nd and then an address. I have found 1 Doyle Wayne Pelfrey 71 yrs of age, who lives in Indiana, but other than that I can't find any more info on the guy. I have searched Archives.com and Ancestry.com but still that's all the info I can come up with without paying, and I really don't have the money. He tried getting info from his adopted parents but they will not tell him anything. All he knows is that he was born May 2nd 1965 at Spohn hospital in Corpus Christi Tx. He was adopted in El Paso in 1968 through child welfare. The adoption agency no longer exist and he has tryed calling everyone he knows of who may know something, but still dead ends. If anyone knows where I should turn next please help. Sorry for such a long post.
