I realise there's a million threads like this, so don't expect a lot, but sure, why not add mine to the pile ;)
I was born in Denver, Colorado - in Denver General hospital - on Nov. 5, 1974.
I was then adopted through an Oklahoma lawyer about a year later.
Looking to trace my Bmom/parents. This is my first little stab at doing this... so any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. :)
Thanks in advance!

You were born a few years too late to get your original birth certificate - sigh... Apparently Colorado does operate a confidential intermediary system which is people who are allowed to access your file and then search for and request approval for you to get your original birth certificate and have their contact details. This option does have drawbacks of course because the person searching and making contact can do a great job or not so great, your birth family may be thrilled or they may shut down because some stranger knows their personal details - you can never tell. This will cost and my best guess somewhere around $300-$500. Go into it with your eyes wide open and trust your gut is the best advice I can give you.Colorado Adoption Laws Before you decide on the above option: Check to see if there is a consent waiver with the state of Colorado (use the above link to find out who to ask). If there is you get your original birth certificate. Order your non-id from the same people above. Ask for anything and everything in the file because some birth families have left letters with the state. Check the registry on this site for matches (search without your actual day of birth because sometimes that was changed and/or people forget the actual date) see if there are any close matches. Register in the registry on this site and ISRR.net. Consider a search angel - they are free. Not sure where this is posted but there is a specific sub-forum for it. Kind regards,Dickons
