I know the basic differences between the two but am wondering what people's experiences have been like. I always hear that private agencies give more support. I've also heard that there are more hassles/rules involved. Any insight would be helpful!
Thanks for sharing!
We started the process with the state in January, had a few meetings and then was told they did not have the money for us go to thru STARS training. In April we switched to a private agency and were licensed and getting calls in August, so just 4 months.
Both social workers were great, but I love the licensing worker we have now. From what I hear, private agencies workers carry smaller case loads, so they have more time to help individuals and be more involved.
Not sure if this really helps, just my experience.
