My twin sister and I were adopted at birth in Newfoundland, Canada. We were born December 1, 1967 by a military couple stationed in Newfoundland. I grew up in Georgia, and successful and two wonderful children. With that said, I wonder often of my birth parents. I long to meet them, but don't want to disrupt their world. They were 16 and 17 when I was born and I understand their fears and understand they weren't ready to be parents. I thank them for recognizing that fact. I can't seem to find the private agency and can't locate information. I need help
Looks like you're in luck. You can contact Vital Statistics and request your original birth registration.
The link below (for Child, Youth and Family Services) will give you information about accessing records in Newfoundland, and then you can click on the Vital Statistics link, and it will take you to a page that will give you more information about how to get your birth registration. (As long as your biological parents didn't decide to sign a disclosure veto, there names will appear on the registration form. Well, if I am guessing, it will be just your mother's name that will appear.)
Good luck!
