Does anyone know if children still qualify for the state funded preschool subsidy after they are officially adopted?
I've heard both yes and no.
Children get an adoption subsidy which can be increased for special needs. They also get Medical until they are 18. That's it. I just had a benefits class.

I seem to remember we are in the same state. I have completed the adoption. Our kids did not attend the state preschool, but a private one. Our daycare subsidy stopped upon adoption. Most kids in our state qualify for an adoption subsidy. Mine get a bit more for special needs. The base rate for most foster kids in our state is equal to the foster subsidy offered by the county. I'm not sure about the state preschool but I would imagine it would be the same as the daycare subsidy, it would depend on the family income. Ours does not qualify, but I know other adoptive families in my town who do.
The subsidized funding for daycare/preschool we have is through the YMCA and seems to revolve mostly around whether or not the child is on medical. I think kids who get adopted still qualify for state funded medical, so I was hoping that fact would assist us in getting the free preschool if and when we finally get to adopt.
