My husband and I are halfway through the seven weeks of classes required by our state. We have already completed fingerprinting/background checks and have filled out the entire binder of paperwork and have copies of all necessary documents.
We were told that somewhere around the halfway point, our homestudies would start (we have to meet with the case worker four times) and that they would be finished by the time we were done with our classes.
What is the typical wait once you are approved? We are applying for sibling groups (or singles) 0-5 (although we would take a 6-7 year old if there was one in the sibling group).
Should we expect to have a placement within days/weeks of approval or does it usually take a few weeks/months?
From what I've heard it depends on your area. It could be anything from a day to several months.
Wish you the best.

In our case , we were licensed on the 24th of Sept. and Oct. 4 we got our first placement. But, I've seen some waiting (on these forums) up to nearly a year. It really does just depend on parameters you've set and timing.
