Hello! I posted about a month ago, we were newly licensed in September. We renside in Michigan and our licensing from start to finish was just under 3 months. We had our initial meeting June 11 and were licensed Sept 4.
It has been a crazy month of waiting. The first week of being licensed we got 2 calls. one for a 4 y/o, we said no to. then one 2 days later for a possible removal of an infant boy 5months. we said yes, but the removal never took place.
Now we haven't gotten any calls. This is frustrating. They have such a "need" for FP yet calls just are not happening.
I emailed our CW to kind of "check in" she responded back.. I don't want to seem pushy, I just feel out of the loop.
How did you all handle the wait? everything is clean and ready for a baby, we just need the baby.
Also, how does it work for foster to adopt for you? I called Bethany Christian Services for info and they said to get licensed to adopt is easy. we are currently working with DHS our county. Did anyone do the adoption portion separately?

Hi ajgast13, we were also licenced in Spetember and are in the dreaded "waiting" stage. I completely understand your frustration and to be honest, you've had more action than we have... we've not recieved ANY phone calls yet :(
I like you have everything cleaned, and waiting. I try to distract myself with other projects, but the suspense is killing me!!!
I wish you all the best, and for me it helps to know I'm not the only one watching my phone, and refreshing my emails :)

I started those projects I had been meaning to do but just hadn't gotten to. Good luck.
Our experience as FP does NOT include the phone ringing off the hook every week. It seems to happen in spurts a few months apart. However, once it a call does come and we say Yes, our kids tend to stay a long time.
