Hi everyone!
I just posted a huge thing and it got deleted! Obviously, I am new haha. So this is my first post. I will be 22 in a couple weeks, and was adopted at birth from TX. I was raised and still live in NY. I have an amazing family who I am very close with, yet I have always felt a piece of me was missing, struggle a lot with anxiety, and want to know about my history.
My birth parents had a son, got divorced and then cheated together and had me. Birth dad was married or at least with another woman, and had a 1 or 2 year old son at the time. Birth mom had another daughter a couple years after I was born with another man. Obviously the circumstances of my birth are a little controversial and awkward. I thought my full brother would know about me since he was nine when I was born, but he did not. I connected with him on Facebook a few years ago. We talked a little, but have not in a while. He asked his mom about me and she replied, "I have no idea what youre talking about." so she denies my existence. He said he knew she was lying and that she has problems with lying and stuff.
He then asked his dad, who said "yeah i think i remember something like that happening"...nice.
So my full brother told me about my half sister, but not to talk to her since she doesnt know about me and he doesnt want her to view their mom negatively.
I found her Facebook and instagram, and she looks a lot like me. I have always wanted a sister, and she is now almost 20 i think. I really want to contact her. I feel very lost and confused.
I also want medical information and such, but i am not sure my birth mother would respond to a letter or anything. I wish i had her email or something.
I would talk to my birthdad too, who I am friends with along with my half brother on facebook..both dont know who i am. Birthdad shares a FB with his wife, so that would be a weird message to get haha.
Any advice? At this point I really just want to talk to my half-sister. I feel part of me is missing, as is part of my identity.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this.. and sharing any advice or similar experiences. i am looking for someone around my age to share advice with, my email is mills1019@gmail.com.
