Does anyone run an inhome daycare and foster

Does anyone else run an inhome daycare? My husband and I are trying to get licensed and have had agencies tell us no because I run a daycare. I have operated for 12 years and have flexibility my husband also has a lot of flexibility with his job. I think being home and having this routine works so well for all ages. We have kids of our own and understand what will be asked of us. So my question is those that do this what hints can you offer as we keep trying to move forward. I am ok with taking less daycare kids but don't want to quit completely. What do you find difficult to manage? Hoping to hear from other agencies today! we are in michigan and it's not looking good.
