After talking about it on and off since adopting my DS, I just took the first step toward potentially finding a brother for him.
OK, so I just sent an email about renewing my home study, but that's the first step, right?
Wish me luck!
GRRRRRR. I can already tell this is going to be a long, frustrating process. I can't get anyone to follow up within what I consider a reasonable time. First, it took a week for the supervisor to assign me to someone and give me their information. OK, fine. I email as well as leave a voice mail introducing myself and what I'm looking to do. I wait a week, then follow that up with another email. I get a response, "I'm putting a packet in the mail for you today." So I wait another week, and email again saying, as politely as possible, "I haven't received the packet" and I get a response, "Oh, I didn't send it because I need to talk with you by phone first." OK so why didn't you call me last week?
I don't want to harass so I'm trying to limit my correspondence to once a week, but the weeks are adding up with literally nothing happening. I guess this is typical, I just wish there were something I could do to get things moving.

A bit flexible on age, but somewhere around 7-14.
Thinking a boy because it would be nice for him to be able to look up to his big brother, before our DS is off on his own (he's 19 now)
i've heard that every time around is different, and each agency and caseworker can be a different experience. best of luck!!
