We are in Abilene - which is in Region 2/9. We've only had 1 foster child, but before we got her, we got calls for SIX children, all from San Angelo! Our caseworker said that San Angelo has a lot of kids in need of foster care. They have just started the redesign of foster care in Texas - starting in Region 2/9. You now have to go with a private agency, and Providence oversees them all. We are with Methodist Children's Home and love them so far - but we haven't had a child placed with them yet. We were with another agency who didn't sign on to do the redesign so we had to switch. More training, paperwork etc. and we are FINALLY about to be licensed again - hopefully by the end of this week!

How long did your license take in Abilene? We haven't had anyone call us yet about Home Study or classes, but I know they've been calling my family members and other references this week. I'm so nervous. Our Agency is New Horizons, if you know anything about them could you pm me? So far they seem very nice and helpful.
