My husband and I have had our FS for over six months now. A TPR date is set for May, with adoption by us if it is granted. Birth mom and grandma are trying to work the plan but it has been slow. There is three children total all in different homes due to their behaviors. My question is, how many have seen TPR not granted and RU happen at the TPR trial? We do support RU if our FS is going back to a safe environment. Right now our FS says he wants to stay with us, he is very attached to me.
Now for the hard part....My husband's job will be eliminated at the end of January and our family will need to move states. Yes timing could not be worse! What does this mean for us? We are willing to live apart for awhile but after reading this site I am thinking this could take years to resolve. Anyone have this happen to them, if so what did you do? We want to do the best thing for our FS. Any advice is appreciated!
I would post this on the main Foster to Adopt Support page. Someone there may have been through exactly this. :)
Good luck.

We had a job opportunity come up in the midst of our case as well. Tpr occurred about a month before we moved, if it hadn't, I was willing to stay behind for another school year with our older kids ant the fk's to see it through. Fortunately, that did not happen. The judge let the kids come as an adoptive placement. The bad thing is that anything can happen before May and relatives/fictive kin could come out of the wood work and get placed with your fs. We were apart about 3 months and let me say, it was beyond tough.
