I was wondering if anyone has ever had any luck on getting DCP&P to pay the daycare co-pays for my foster children so that I can work. There are no daycares in my area that does not charge more than what Quality Care is willing to pay. I pay $60 a week for my foster children to go to daycare so that I can work. I would like to get reiumbursed for the past month that I have been paying out of my pocket if possible. Any info would be helpful. Thanks
They should be paying the daycare place directly. You should call your resource worker, not the kid's worker, to get this straightened out.

I will call my resource worker but I have a feeling that they will not help. I am out of Gloucester County but the children are out of Camden County. Will my resource worker from Gloucester pay for daycare for my foster children out of Camden County???
I've been told again and again that DCPP will NOT pay childcare at all because it's up to whatever agency is responsible for child care payments to pay for daycare. I assume yours is Quality Care? By me, it's a different company. Yet, DCPP is required by law to make sure full-time working parents have sufficient child care options....I would send a letter to whichever DCPP office placed the children with you and say the rate is ___ a week and Quality Care is ____ a week and I can't pay the difference. Make it their problem. Request a family team meeting to discuss day care options. You may have to drive a bit further to find a day care that accepts the full amount from Quality Care but if there really are none in your area, that is completely unacceptable. My advice is to put it in writing, request a family team meeting and copy Quality Care on your letter.
I wish that DYFS covered the co-pays! The daycare costs in my area are soooo expensive. I am stuck at a daycare because they accept the daycare subsidy as payment-in-full. All other daycares in the area would cost me at least $50-100 (or more) a week in co-pays. I can't afford that. Even with my raise next year, I am needing to pay for before and after care for my son, who turns "school-age" in September and will no longer receive his PACC subsidy.
