We have had our license a little over a week. We had to take a class that was required after we received our license which we took that over a week ago. During the class I met our resource manager who our case would be handed over to. She actually was one of our teacher in class when we were going through that last year. She informed us that she had our case and would be calling this week sometime. The person who did our home study informed us that they were placing tons of kids and we should get a call soon. That was her opinion in my eyes though. My question is should I try to contact the resource manager to see what is going on since I have not heard from her or is it too soon. How long does it take to receive call for placement. I seen people in class last week literally get a call while taking the last class. I guess you could say I am a very impatient person.

It is so super hard to be patient once you've got that license in hand. Try not to stress about it... you will get a call when the timing is right.
It took us four months to get out first placement (we are foster-adopt) and we spent all that time worrying about it because it seemed like everyone else in our class got placements right away.
I now think the waiting was good practice for all the waiting we're doing now for our case to move along.
To keep your mind off the wait, maybe try and take the time to do things you might not be able to do with new a new kid or kiddos in the house. It worked for us... we planned a vacation trip, which we had just started booking when we got our placement call.

Here's my story:
We were approved April. Three 3 wks later, our sibling set came.(Our age range was 6mo-3yr) However, we didn't meet w/ our Matcher until 2wks after becoming licensed. We knew it we would get a placement quickly but we never thought it would happen same day. Literally we were offered a set of twins the day we met w/ our Matcher. Unfortunately we couldn't take in the twins but the next day, we were called about our current 2. 10 months later, our sibling set of 2 increased to 3. And we only started out wanting to adopt 2.
Enjoy the silence. Before you know it, they will be calling you and you will be on the rollercoaster. Get your sleep in, enjoy not having your schedule dictated to you because of all the dr appts and visits. I love my babies more than I can express but I was truly ill prepared for the onslaught of the System.
And if you want a placement earlier, plan a vacation or a major home improvement project. You'll definitely get a call:)
Thanks and that is what I have been doing. We have a home project going on which involves re-doing the yard. I have been doing things to keep my mind off of it. Yard work, reading, going out to dinner, and now getting ready for my daughters graduation. It definitely is a roller coaster and I really am glad to found this form. Reading stories of others helps a great deal. :)
