We are searching for my husbands birth parents and I don't know the best forum to list on. The information we have is he was born in Elizabeth NJ and adopted thru Catholic charities. Birth name Allen/Alan, on August 22, 1970. Birth mother Janet (19), birth father Robert(21, Vietnam). Maternal grandmother Violet. Janet is one of 5 siblings, Robert is one of 10 siblings. Has to be a lot of relatives out there. Any suggestions are so appreciated!

I don't know if you've heard this or not. But, in 2017, your husband will be able to obtain a copy of his original birth certificate.
So, keep trying to find his family between now and then, but if you have no luck, order his birth certificate. If his b-parents haven't requested that their information be withheld, he'll at least learn the name of his b-mom.

Yep, Gov. Christie just signed the law, so your husband will be able to request his original birth certificate in 2017.
That doesn't mean you need to wait 3 years to search at all, though.
You can start with the Soundex registry, which is the biggest mutual consent-type registry out there. You can find them at International Soundex Reunion Registry - ISRR - once your husband signs up there (with whatever information he might have), the system will look for a match. If his birth family has also registered, both sides will be notified.
It sounds like you've gotten some info from Catholic Charities? If you haven't, you might want to look into requesting whatever information (usually described as non-identifying information) they've kept. That stuff is valuable, as it can help you confirm a connection if you find someone.
Would it be possible for your husband to have access to whatever paperwork his (adoptive) parents might have? Sometimes, clues can be teased out from the adoption paperwork. (And sometimes, information wasn't correctly redacted and you get more than just a clue.)
Additionally, if you're currently living in NJ and within driving distance of Paramus, there's a group that meets monthly to support members of the adoption triad. I live in NJ myself, and I'd be happy to share the details, if your husband would like to check it out. The organizers are adoptees in reunion, and are excellent resources for searching ideas... Send me a private message if you'd like to know more.
Thanks so much, we have the non-identifying information from Catholic charities. Unfortunately his adoptive parents are not helpful. We do not live in NJ anymore, and actually hired a company to find his parents a year ago, paid a lot of money for nothing, so we are trying on our own. Thank you for your help, we appreciate it.
