If a caseworker got the homestudy and other information of a family she felt was a good match, would she just staff it to go further? Or do they require to have more family possibilities first?
The child's previous adoption worker seemed to like us and forwarded our information on to the new adoption worker. They are now looking to review our homestudy.
I have asked for an idea of their procedure to see if that gives me any clues. But I thought I'd see if anyone here had any also.
I kinda think they might be able to get a few families interested based on the information I have about the child. However, no doubt it is a little limited because of the age of the child.
I just wish I knew NOW  Waiting is HARD!
I suspect it depends upon what the state's statutes are. With my second son, he came to me as an emergency placement when his pre-adoptive placement fell through. I was later named as the adoption resource without a staffing only because the child's GAL put me on the stand during the permanency hearing and asked a few questions. This eliminated the need for the state to have a staffing.

Yeah, this is a waiting child. I keep stalking my email (like obsessively!) waiting to hear from the adoption worker. There is just something different about THIS inquiry.
Here they always have three "finalists" to vote on. In some cases they start out with dozens, but in our case they only had three.
In both of my kids case (older daughter 8 when matched) and two boys (same caseworker as daughter ages 1 and 2) I was the only home so they didnt have a matching just straight to disclosure but the team decided I was a good fit so it went quick
