[FONT="Trebuchet MS"]Everyone always thinks that when you're from NY- it's strictly NYC. NOT me- i'm about 2 hours from (we go there like tourists too).
We became Foster Parents- July 2012. Since then we've had 12 kids in our home.
9 months- 1.5, 3 & 4 yo (male, female,female) who all turned 2,4 & 5 during our care.
1 Week- 3 & 4 yo (female, male)
8.5 months- 3, 4 & 7 (female, male, male) who all turned 4, 5 & 8 during our care
so Far 10 months (still with us) 3&4 (male, female) Who have turned 4 & 5
So Far 5 months (still with us) 1 &3 (male, male) Who have turned 2 &4
Since their stay- the first set i had for 9 months-i stay in touch w/ their mom and have taken the kids for a visit.
The second set I see occasionally. They live in another home with a friend/family member that I met through foster care.
The third set- have been gone 7 months. I have not heard from them since January.
Our long term goal is to adopt all 4 that are in our home- (2,4,4 & 5) & a baby who is on it's way (sibling of 2 of my children)
Once that is complete-i'm thinking of closing down shop for a while-it's been a great journey..but fast-and overwhelming. Lots of emotions.
Hope to meet a lot of great people. :happydance:
