My husband and I will be starting foster to adopt classes and our home study next month. I am just curious as to what questions everyone has been asked. I understand that they will ask pretty much anything and everything and I am not afraid to share, more just curious as to what kind of stuff they are looking for. My husband and I, although only married 2 years, have a very strong relationship and we are stable financially and could definitely provide a stable home. We both have experience working with traumatized/special needs children. What are some of the questions you were asked during home study?
Hi! We have started our home study in Fl. I was scared to death as I have read they get very personal. The lady who interviewed me and my husband together just asked us questions about our "life story" which we had written during our PRIDE classes and that went into our file. She asked about our relationships with our parents. Rules we had in our household with our Bio kids. How we blended our family with his, mine and ours. She did a tour of the house. Was here about 2 hours. She Said we would have one more visit for her to talk to my 15 year old and 19 year old who still live with us, and that she wanted to have her "part" wrapped up within the month. We are adopt only.
Be prepared to repeat everything again and again paperwork wise. We had a whole packet we had to fill out with the home study that was a repeat of what was already in our file. So far so good!
Best of luck!

I also wanted to say that they are more strict here with fostering guidelines than with adopt only guidelines. They pretty much outlined what to expect in our PRIDE manuals and in class.
