HELP! I have a fellow foster/adoptive friend in Texas. She was going back through licensing after being closed for a few years & feels like she was disqualified because they had received food stamps recently. Basically her husband lost his job & between jobs, they applied & received them. Once he got a new job, they started to go back through licensing, but didn't disclose they received them to their agency. Is it even possible the agency could know they got food stamps if she didn't tell them at all, I told her I didn't think they even had access to that type of information?

I agree, I doubt if they would know, or care, if the family used food stamps. I wouldn't think this would matter, it shows they did what they needed to do to provide for the family in changing circumstances.
Was the family disqualified? Or is that just your friends fear of what might happen?
If they were denied I would tell her to ask the agency why, it might be something fixable. If, for some reason, she is told that it was because she didn't disclose that they used food stamps, if I were her, I would simply tell the agency that it never occurred to me to tell, because the food stamps are no longer necessary.
