Our license came in the mail last Saturday along with some paper work to sign and send back. By Monday they were calling us asking if we would take a couple of kids! The kids have been in another foster home for less then a week and the foster mom wants them moved because of work conflict. We said yes and they said we should know for sure by the end of the week.
I'm going crazy waiting to hear! I just hope we know before the weekend so I don't have to worry until Monday!
Our caseworker also mentioned that they have put a hold on our home so no one else can send kids to us before they know for sure about these 2. I guess there aren't many homes in our county that will take 2 kids and that are not already full
How exciting! Some kids just require more time, and thus a stay at home parent is better. My parents took tough teens, and there is no way my mom could have held a job and had the kiddos. She spent many days running to and from the school for kids who broke the rules, needed extra doc visits, and then there were the parent visits. It can be taxing on people with a less than flexible work schedule to handle such things. Don't let the work conflict thing scare you assuming you have a flexible job. :) It probably is a work thing and not a kiddo thing. maybe they just have a lot of family visits and the FPs have to transport. New kiddos are always exciting! Let us know how it goes!

congrats! we received our first placement before even receiving our liscense in the mail! It's crazy but so glad we are being used and we love our littles!
Update: They worked things out with the kid's currant foster mom so they'll be staying with her. They took the hold off of our home though so now we're open for more calls
