My partner and I are considering adopting from cps and very excited about it but a little overwhelmed with all the inoformation. Can anyone assist with any inofrmation on how this will go? I know we are not recognized as a couple and one will have to do a second parent adoption. During the initial process will they license both of us? Do weboth attend the training?how long after placement is the finalization of the adoption? Can the se one parent adoption happen at the same time? Sorry lots of question. We are going toinfo meeting tomorrow. Any help is appreciated.

I worked with an agency previously & in 6 years there saw ONE SS couple & they were still TRYING to get licensed. I'm currently with another agency & just went to an agency event & was so impressed with the amount of same sex couples. You can PM me & I'll tell my agency, we can't post about them!

First, there *is* a place near you that *will* do the adoption at the same time. I will have to look to see where exactly that was, but some people have the case moved in order for both people to adopt at the same time.Second, if you were here (you aren't, but our agency has an office in SA), you could be licensed by February. They wouldn't think twice about "the issue."

Email cexon@lifelinecfs.org. That's a foster agency in San Antonio and has worked with same sex couples.
