Leaving a message for the spammers bombarding this site.
Seriously... has anyone ever bought something based on the ads you are flooding the forum with????
If not, why do you bother? Why is someone paying you to do this?
Do you think they'll continue to pay you is no one buys anything?
Doesn't it make sense to spam forums where you have a chance or reaching your target audience?
i mean really! You have a 90-95% female audience and you're shilling viagra rip offs?

To the admins: I am willing to volunteer my tome - both as a reviewer AND as a software engineer to help tackle this problem.
This site is losing members every day. I fear for it's future. Which makes me very sad :(

I'd happily moderate new member posts if meant keeping out the spam.
That seems like an elegant and simple solution. First ten posts have to moderated. If they are spam, block the user and ISP.

wcurry66 I had to laugh at your poll and post to the spammers. :) This SPAM nonsense is not very funny though- I am banning 30+ SPAM users a day and they each come back the very next day with 3 more new logins. AHHHHH! I thought the same thing--"no one on the forums would even buy any of this stuff, they are wasting their time". Some extra hands on deck for when I'm not online would be great. I am going to play around in the NEW administrative back end section today and see what capabilities it has for moderating.

Hopefully there is a way - and Spud - you shouldn't be the only one dealing with all these spammers...I'd be happy share my thoughts with whomever the people behind the scene are...
Or, perhaps we could all start a petition...because wcurry is right - so many people are disappearing that used to be regular posters and traffic means advertising dollars - I doubt advertisers want to pay when the site is filled with spammers hawking whatever it is that they hawk...

Spammers are very destructive.
On other forums the rules are:
If the first post is spam you are locked out forever and your IP address is blocked so you can't try it again.

Spam or not, this sight isn't as easy to look through . I guess because every time I click the new post. It show spam or nothing. Then I look around and see people do post. But I never see it in new post. As for spam I just don't go on them. They may contain viruses. I would be intrigued if I seen wrinkle cream.

This is the first time I've logged in for many months. I can't tell you how stunned I am to see all of the obvious spammer posts. Is this site no longer moderated at all????

Everyone - I am working the best I can to stop the spammers. We have our development team on it and we are trying to find a solution. I still moderate this site M-F 8am-5pm MST.
Right now it is only me deleting the spam so it does take a while for me to go though all of it in the nooks and crannies of the community.
