I am a part of a church that really supports foster care. They don't just talk about it. They implement it.
They hold trainings for their employees and volunteers and do their best to be aware of how to care for kids who have undergone trauma (in Sunday school and such). They have a Foster Parents Night Out every single month, where certified volunteers are present in the church gym to host 4 hours of fun for foster kids so the parents can go out.
My favorite part is our support group. There is an older couple who has been fostering kids for YEARS and every month provide dinner and community for us. We share updates, we pray for one another, they make us food! There is childcare. It is such a gift.
I would love to see more of this. Do you have a good support system? How would you like to see churches start supporting foster care and foster families more?

That's SO awesome. What can we do to help get more congregations to implement support programs like this?
