Single Female Considering Foster Care Adoption

I'm a single female - age 52 - living in New York City and I'm considering domestic foster care adoption (girl aged 2 to 6). Please post or PM me your experiences (positive and negative) and recommendations regarding agencies. Thank you.

I am in my forties and pursuing single parent adoption. It is doable but harder and more expensive than I had anticipated.
