Moving house soon after adoption

Hi all, we have ourselves in what we think is a bit of a bind. We have just purchased a new house (in the same city) and the day after getting the signed contract we were matched with an 18 month old boy through an overseas program (so amazingly excited)... Initially it looked like we would be able to get into the new house before traveling OS to bring our boy home, but it seems like things are moving faster than expected and we are now in a total panic that we may need to travel before we are in the new house. We have read that you should not move house soon after bringing your adopted child home (esp from overseas?) as it can be extremely unsettling and can be traumatic. My question is, does anybody have any opinions on this? Reassurance or otherwise? |We are worried that we will either need to back out of the purchase contract and suffer the financial consequences, or move house within 1-3 weeks of returning home with our boy. Obviously he is our number 1 priority Thanks in advance T.
