Need some advice. I had a minor (14 yo) contact me through Ancestry as he was a possible second cousin match. He of course is looking for his birth family. After some family research we did figure out where he belongs, but it seems unwise at this point to connect him with his B-mother. Our family hasn't had contact with B-mother in quite awhile, in fact I have never met her. I told him to be patient as I research with the family. He says his A-family knows he is searching, but to "be careful".
Any suggestions as to how I approach this? I want to help, but the adoption itself (7-8 yrs ago) may be too fresh. Are there legal considerations as he is a minor?
Ancestry DNA has been a wonderful resource, we reunited an adopted gentleman back with the family a few years back, but this case is definitely different.
Thank you!
