Adoption Search
I have an unusual situation in that I have two friends (unrelated as far as we know) who were both born on May 2, 1949 (05-02-1949). They do not know each other. Both asked me to search for their birth mother at around the same time a few years ago. I researched both histories and information but never was able to find either of them a match.
So I am going to attempt once again, to see if I can find either or both of their birth mothers, fathers, relatives. Funny thing is, they both are blonde, blue eyed. The man is very tall and has long legs. The lady is short, petite. Both have similar personalities.
Prior to this week, the man had always been told he was born on 5/3/1949 but recently found out it was really 5/2/1949. This is quite the coincidence for me, since previously I thought I was searching for one on the 2nd and the other on the 3rd. Could it be possible they are related by birth? Maybe fraternal twins? The birth mother of the man has been described to me as exactly like that of the lady who was adopted.
Information has been altered so we really do not have a lot of confirmed information on the ladies adoption. She was supposedly in an Edna Gladney home in Ft. Worth or Dallas and came from a computer family in California. This has changed quite a bit over the years. Adoptive parents will not even discuss her adoption or birth information. On her birth certificate, the birth mother is listed as Jean Barry. But the person who signed it started to write the first name with a BӔ and then crossed it out and wrote Je an (not connected like usually done in cursive writing). The last name appears to maybe have been Berry and written over to make it Barry. She was listed as baby girl Barry. Time of birth was 10:40 p.m. and a Dr. W.D. McDonald signed the birth certificate. She was named Mary Ellen (goes by Meg). Address of bmother at the time of hospitalization was listed as 1850 Ft. Worth Ave, Dallas, Texas. She was adopted by a family in San Antonio, Texas and lived there until she moved to Austin. Last name starts with GӔ. Other states possibly Louisiana, Oklahoma, East Coast, New Mexico.
The gentleman adoptee, has more information. His bmother listed her name as Elizabeth Hill and HER father was listed as R.P. Hill. Her mother signed the birth certificate as Mrs. R.P. Hill. This adoption was done in SAN ANTONIO and the birth certificate shows a hospital there as the location. His adopted parents have given him all they knew about the birth mother which is just what they were told. He was born baby boy Hill. He has his adoption paperwork but there is no personal information or home town listed for bmother. He is probably 62 or taller and has long legs, and an inherited problem with his kidneys. His adopted name was Edward (protecting their last names but starts with W). Was told bmother was from New Mexico, Louisiana, Mississippi, possibly. The time of birth is on the certificate and I can get a copy to confirm any information you need.
If you are searching for a child who was adopted around this time period (5/1949) and any or all of this info rings a bell, please contact me. I am doing this because they are my friends and am not being paid. There are no underlying thoughts or needs by either of these individuals. Both are professionals, well educated, have their own homes, and families with grandchildren. Neither of them are looking for more than just to know their birth mother or family. Both of them are very wonderful people and I would put my life on the line for either of them.
Please consider some variations on the information above. Maybe the name isnҒt Barry, but Berry or Parry, Perry. Maybe the first name isnt Jean, but Barbara, Betty, Bonnie, Beverly, Peggy, Patsy, Paula, Pamela or Patricia. Maybe some other first name that starts with J: Joan, Janice, Joyce, Judy, Jane, Jo, Joanne, Joann, Jacqueline. These were all on the most popular names for 1949.
Maybe they were both born in Dallas, maybe San Antonio. Considering the way people felt about adoptions and family issues in 1949, there could be very little of their information true. The one thing I have heard, is that they usually keep the birth date the same as born or only adjust it by a few days. Year pretty much stays as that they were born. Photos confirm they were both born close to the date of May 2, 1949.
If this sounds like something we can discuss, please contact me at lilmoon_14@yahoo.com. My name is Becky. I live in Austin, Texas. I will not alert them to any incoming calls unless you give me permission to do so. I am not eager for anyone to be hopeful and later find out it is not the right family.
Thanks for your help and good luck in your searches.
