Hoping to adopt

We made a rash decision after the birth of our second child that resulted in my husband's vasectomy. After much consideration, we have decided that we would like to extend our family with one or more children.We have had lengthy conversations with both of our children and each other and have decided that we would like an "older" child or sibling group. We do not want to adopt a child older than our son.Can anyone give us some advice on how to procede. We would like to adopt as soon as possible. Our first meeting with an agency is Sept. 10.
