I would like to start some sort of support group for grandparents who are in the same situation that I am in. My daughter gave up my grand daughter to adoption. She would not let us raise her child or she would not accept any help from us in dealing with her problems. Are ther any other birth grandparents out there who would like to correspond with each other

Dear linmac:
I feel for your situation. My mom is a birth grandparent for my brother's little girl. Fortunately, she is in an open adoption. Your heart may long to know your sweet grandchild. In this day with the Internet and the amount of communication and information available it may be possible for you to have some type of relationship with your birth grandchild.
My heart goes out to you. I pray that you become involved with the support that you are asking for. You are very welcome to be part of the grandparents list service here on this web site. At http://www.adoptionlists.com as you scroll down the page you will see Grandparents listed. Please click on the word grandparent. It will take you to a web page to sign up for an online support group for grandparents. You can exchange e-mail messages about birthgrandparenting. If you would like some help with getting involved with this list you are more than welcome to e-mail me at sabra@adoption.com
I know that my mom truly has a heart for her bithgrandchild and I am sure that you do as well. You are wise to ask about support.
If you have any questions please let me know.
Warm regards,
