hello
We are a homestudy approved military family waiting for our little blessing. We have been approved for a year now and the wait is seeming to be forever. We are trying to go through the state. and are willing to accept sibling groups. the age we are looking for is newborn -11 and am willing to accept many disabilities. you would think that we would have been called by now but nothing.

Sometimes we get kind of lost in the shuffle. I'd try calling your worker every few weeks and asking if there are any new profiles for you to look over. You can also look on line at the DFS waiting children page and contact your worker about specific children.
Hang in there and don't let them forget about you- keep calling.

If you're any where near the Kansas City area, I would recommend joining the Midwest Fostercare and Adoption Association(MFCAA). They provide training and services for families and since most of the volunteers are foster parents, they can also help parents navigate the system.

Have you had any luck on your search to adopt. I am a volunteer at Midwest Foster Care & Adoption Association and I wondered if you had contacted us to try and help you. Even if you live outside of Kansas City we still can be a valuable resource for you.
